When my child ask- what is condom?

Image
Yesterday I got opportunity to visit popular single screen local cinema house at Gandhinagar for a wonderful movie “Alha Ke Bande”. The movie is about how children are used by gangsters. Movie was really heart touching to me as it presented unseen realities of our society. I was really moved by the scenes used for justifying the story, it was full of child abusing and violence even though this movie is not A certified. The audience present in that hall was children of 5th standard to 10th standard of one of the nearby boys’ hostel. The warden of gave permission to these kids to go to movie without have awareness about the sexual abusing scene this movie has (he might not be knowing that which movie these boys are going to watch). Children aged 8 year to 14 year, instead of learning good part of this movie was motivated by bad part. It was really shocking for me to see that kids aged around 6-8 years where using the F words in public places. I asked meaning of ‘Fuck’ to one boy who spea

Women: subject and object of entertainment

Women, wonderful creation of supreme power. An other side and most necessary part of human species. . I can write a book (or books) on women appreciation not only me anyone can write a lot many things about a creature which brought him/her in this world, who nature him, who allowed reproduction of species. Today the world is talking about empowerment of women and not only talking but it is observed that the condition of women is improving. Everyone knows that the women of today is more free and liberal then women of past. They are allowed to get education, they are allowed to work in the field of their choice, they are allowed to select man of their desire etc The most eye catching trend I have observed in media about women is that women are used as object by the media under the label of empowerment. It can be dark side of so-called empowerment but it’s not wrong. I would like to share some questions which aroused in my mind, why there are more female news readers? Why king fisher’s

We the VOICELESS People Of India

Since weeks my newspaper is shouting about corruption whether it is CWG, Adarsh Scam or 2G spectrum scam, whatever it may be topic of corruption is taking centre stage in media. I think people of India have become addicted to corruption and why only India, corruption is found in every country of this world. In Gandhinagar I am using public transport bus (VITCOS) to travel Rate of ticket is very nominal like Rs. 3 or Rs. 4 , it has became practice by VITCOS conductors that they don’t return ‘change’ and people of this city don’t even ask (or dare) to one or two rupee back. I purchased ticket of Rs. 4 and gave coin of Rs. 5 , conductor didn’t returned me one rupee back, i demanded twice but that guy not ready to return back one rupee back. Then i used rash words and told him that if he wants to collect such one rupee coins he should sit near some temple why he is doing job? These words of mine were observed as insult to him and he returned me one rupee coin. It was not question about one

Socially networked

Image
It was wonderful experience for me to watch “the social network”. I become conscious about new social trend of getting “networked socially”. Every human being likes to interact with another human not necessary in which format he is interacting. In Indian context people used to have community interaction during “mela” (fairs) or weekly markets or near community well or ponds etc. It was kind social networking where people get opportunities to express their views or to do business. With the advent of technology this custom had taken new form in India. In other parts of world , real lack of community is observed, may be because of liberal family values which gave boost to such social technology. I found three serious concern about this technology, it is more idiosyncratic – people thinks that they can become hero (or heroin) if they access social network sites and have more number of friends in list. It is observed that person who is less confident to speak in public posts good comment

What I am studying?

Image
I am perusing my education from last 18 years and it is obvious that every child in this country has right to get education. We have such a wonderful education where person can get education as per his parent’s capacity to spend. In current Indian society your Intel is judged by the money you can earn. Many people talks and think about education system, it has its own advantages and disadvantages it’s not a matter of big concern to me. After getting admitted in higher education I became aware that whatever have been taught to us in class room is derived, impressed and taken from WEST. Any discipline for Indian Education mainly depends on western theories. When it is asked that why we are studying theories from west? There comes intellectual lazy argument that it is a result of imperialism and colonialism which imposed their education system to India. There rises another question in my mind that this country is free since last 60 years, why can’t we frame some theories which can have In

Development at what cost?

Media reported that land acquisition for Ahmadabad Mumbai expressway has began, major cities are bypassed. This news at very first look it gave great pleasure to me but while thinking on the other part of the news which states that all major cities are going to be bypassed. The lands outside “major” cities are either agriculture land or forest land. An ambitious project for preserving environment through forest seems to be underestimated or neglected। Farmers are made voiceless by providing reasonable amount for land acquisition and people are made voiceless in the name of development. Similarly, development of knowledge cities or IT parks also raises the same question. Land acquisition done at waghodia by L&T in the name development of waghodia taluka of Vadodara district illustrate how people of this country are made fool by capitalists. It’s a simple logic which came to my mind that when company acquires the land from farmers on the basis of promise to provide employme

Why my parents put me English medium?

Image
India seems to be hilarious country to me where if you say word like “chumban” is considered as “Cheap”   but if you say “Kiss” you are viewed as modern person. This forced to think why we consider a particular language as superior to our own language?   I can find answer of this question in imperialistic history of India. British rule has suppressed people of India so much that getting Indian mental freedom is seems to be more difficult. I think Indians are luckiest people in world who are able to learn minimum two languages, knowingly or unknowingly. I am not favouring to those who think that English is bad, every language has its usage and beauty but thinking some language as superior then other is not a sign of intelligence. As global citizen its required that one should know the language in which world carries out its business. I think Indians are suppressed by themselves. Following any country is not bad thing but assuming our self inferior and others superior is definitely not

Parliament Politics is disallowing change

Image
Its a famous proverb in Hindi, - Hamam mein sab nange , meaning all are nude in public bath. Same thing is happening with parliament of India. Parliament of India is seems to be fort for politics, any political game played within this fort is considered as legitimate political game while political games played outside parliament is considered as social reforms or internal security threat. Gandhi in his Hind Swaraj compare parliament with prostitute It clearly signifies that parliament is used dignified tool to resist change, where people come, use parliament for their pleasure and goes away . It seems that all members of parliament had become one to maintain status quo which they term as law and order. In the name of law and order people are forced to think in suppressed manner. It is a rosy picture which is provided by making people happy and disallowing them to think beyond or speak up. Radical approach is needed to bring political reforms in this country but Parliamentary politics u
