Hack, Hacker and Hacktivist

Image
Today one of my roommate hacked Gmail account of his friend, the thing which makes me happier is he did this by himself without my help. I realized one thing today that instead of helping other its always better to inspire them to help themselves, people may think you as arrogant or rude for such things but I am damn sure that they’ll learn good things from you. Why I am saying good to hacking for many reasons. Many of my friends at back home are hackers, some are ethical and many are not :) . The term ‘hacker’ here should be taken into broader sense. Hacker means person who breeches security of any information system and Hack is an act done by hacker to get any processed data from any information computing device. I think this is a very common term these day’s everyone is aware about hacking or ethical hacking. I am not going share those old views of hacking. The term Hacking was basically used in mid 60’s with the advent of computing devices it got popular after 90’s when ARPAnet bec

Why should I call my teachers, SIR/MADAM?

This week one of my educators didn’t signed one very important document because I was singing song in canteen during his presence. According to him, I should adhere the norms of university system. The word ‘system’ strike on my mind, is university a system? Do systems has norms (norms and rules are different words and with different meaning, as this learned man himself taught us – ‘there is no synonym in language’)? If it is system what are the loop hole it has (as no system is perfect)? If there is loop holes then who is responsible to correct it? And how he/she will correct it? Some people view this world as big system, no point of denial to that, because up till now, I was among them. I think as a human we are experts in framing hierarchical systems everywhere, in society we have caste, class and gender, in every religion god is omnipotent, in economics means of productions comes on top, you name the domain and we have hierarchical systems there. These systems are not allowing u

Should I trust her on Facebook?

Learning from and for society is getting interesting day by day to me, consciously thinking over small things gives me big thoughts now a days, on other hand knowledge of technology allows me to view social changes through the perspective of technology especially, internet. One of my junior just started her Facebook profile, being a girl she is getting about 20 friend requests per day another friend of mine made about 200 friends in one on Facebook in about one month. It’s not a case of these two people but I think it’s a case of 90% Facebook population. Adding people into list is looks very simple thing but there is big psychological myth I can observe in it which I would like to share. While travelling in train I noticed that people don’t interact with each other because they are busy with their mobiles or laptops it was not the case before 5 years. Many times we interacted with person sitting in front or beside us in train or bus but its not same now a days. People today avo

Writing anything smug and preachy makes me worried, whether an average Indian will read it or not but few chunk of people who can really read and understand the things also inspire me to put down my ideas on paper and on screen. While reading article of Madhu Theran (founding editor of India Today) during this week, forced me to share her thoughts and my interpretation on honesty, values and ethics in Indian bureaucratic and democratic systems. We all know the reality that in today’s world success i.e. ultimate goal is given much importance then the means used to achieve that goal. We don’t really care for things except our own gains. During my graduation, i was getting confused between all rights and wrongs but now am getting confused between rights and rights. Is it possible to be an honest and turn a huge profit in India? Is it possible to run a business and not resort to bribing officials and bureaucrats? Is it possible to be an honest accountant and protect your job when your boss
