सत्य मेव जयते , is it so ??

Democracy , a used and abused word of the contemporary world seems to have traumatized from the foundation Legislature,Executive,Judiciary, Press are consider as four legs of creature called democracy. Today after giving end semester exam of political studies I realized that the democracy on which we are feeling are itself not able be prove as stable institute which can govern people.

Delays in judgment, alternation in interoperation of judgment, corruption at judiciary level etc enough to prove that the legislative sub systems have not remained trust worthy now a day in India. Today we can find declaration, announcement, suggestions and judgments of Supreme Court at every 3rd day, what does that means? As per my view the Supreme Court has to interfere in every matter for maintaining or reforming lives of Indians and its interventions are increasing day by day. Then a question raise in my mind is why we need reforms? Are we moving towards perfection or we are moving towards decaying of Indian political social life? I am not able to find answer of these questions.


Corruption and bureaucracy is seems to be synonyms now a day, like Supreme Court judgments we can find scams every now then in media. It may have added a spice to “news making” business. Running parallel systems for selfish gains has become habit of bureaucratic population. Why don’t RTI activists are criticized often? Is demanding true information unfair? Knowing that RTO, Custom etc. are considered as corrupt no action has been taken because they fetch lots money. The best example I can quote is – if government thinks that tobacco products are harmful to health of citizens then and exercises lots of constraints over the tobacco product manufacturers but government is not able to ban tobacco products, why?

And finally my favorite, mediaaaa ! wonderful domain of wonderful people who shows that they have responsibility towards nation and society but they are also now into business of profit and looks for huge capital, majority of TV channels (mainly news channels) are owned by corporate groups which MAKE news as per their profit sense. News are not presented to broadcast information but to get TRP, the more TRP the more money. With freedom comes responsibility, do you think media is exercising its duties properly ?

Whatever is happening in terms of wikileaks shows that democratic ideology is getting polluted, on one side the media is not able understand its responsibilities while on other side “soldiers of democracy” are trying to restrict the freedom of speech and expression when it comes to them.

It is becoming too difficult to prove that what or who is right and who is wrong. The act of publishing documents which is tagged as confidential is obviously an offence but restricting individual or group to say is also against democratic values.

This fight is not between good or bad, but its war within, please find the truth yourself J

DECODING THE GURU

As a student of sociology, brought up in Gujarati culture I always wondered about existence and influence of gurus, pir and babas. Some iconic personalities raised to level of divinity and worshiped as god is still an avenue of my quest. People like Ramdev Pir, Jalaram Bapa, Sai Baba, Sitaram Bapa, Bhathiji Maharaj, Swaminarayan, etc. appeared during colonial times and are today praised as god. Till date, people like Pandurang Athaval, Swami Chinmayanand, Dada Bhagwan, Shiv Baba, Stya Shree Sai Baba, Sadguru, Shree Shree Ravi Sankar, Osho, etc. are popular across country as a god’s men who are leading various sectarian cults based on Hindu doctrines. Multitasking, life killing strategy …

            I am a designer, a blogger, a research scholar, a friend, a son, a brother, aaaaaaa many things. Many things, many identities, many roles are being adopted (even assigned) by this entity called “I”. Every role has its own nature of demand. Performing these roles at its best is most challenging, most complex and most desirable thing.                       Today every human being is “burdened” with such roles and identities, to navigate between these roles and identities he has adopted strategy what we called multitasking. At single point of time we are doing so many things, for instance updating facebook status while sitting in class, writing assignments with listening music and what not. I feel height of multitasking when people take picture while kissing !!!  The first word which comes up in my mind after looking such snaps is undoubtedly F word….
