if steve jobs where born in iNDIA :)

News of his death was truly breaking news, as world lost one of its most respected innovators. Steve jobs, one of leading tech innovator who successfully attempted to 'touch' lives of about half population on the globe.  His 'think different' products and enterprises, his spiritual philosophy and motivational life style have influenced many people irrespective to relationship with Silicon Valley.

Indian IT market, though welcomed Steve's products very slowly and may be lastly among the world, respects his management fundamentals and ways of leadership the most. After listening news of job's death a wish man's words forced me to think, why India cannot produce personality like Steve? His point was based on Steve's biography, in which Steve values resemble to middle class values of common Indian person. Though we have such great and deeper values, why are we not able to setup studios like Pixar? Why we are not able to different and user-friendly gadgets by own? Why our corporate world lacks in managerial and innovative leadership?
Thinking shallowly, I got bit funny but true (as I think) answers for these questions, imagine Steve jobs where born in India and that to in middle class picture might be slightly different than this.
  • Steve parents might have admitted him regional language school for primary schooling.
  • Steve's parents might have expected or forced him to score 80-90% during school days.
  • Steve might not have allowed to drop the school even if didn't liked studying there, or if he dropped schooling he might have been employed somewhere.
  • Steve's parents might have forced or helped him in choosing, science, commerce and arts subjects for higher education.
  •  Steve's teachers might have loaded him with lots of assignments and projects or he might get forced to prepare of competitive exams.
  •  Steve's girlfriend might have some expectations which Steve have to fulfill at the cost of his studies else he can lead to break up.
  • Steve might be spending 3-4 hours on social networking sites.
  • Steve might have got selected by HP in campus placement
  • Steve's employer might have provided lots of incentives and appraisals to retain BEST talent.
  • At age of 40-45 Steve might got realized that he is just and employee and might create better than his employer
  • After resigning at age of 45 years Steve might have started his own company called JOBS AND SONS PVT. LTD which produce BETTER (but not new) product from his pervious employer company.
  • At age of 55 his sons' roles might have changed to roles of successors of EMPIRE he created in last decade.
  • At age of 60 Steve might have give up his business to his sons and engage himself in social upliftment by issuing scholarships and fellowship to RESERVED category students for higher education under name of Steve Job scholarships.
  • Death of Steve might have been declared has public (or at least organizational) holiday.

These all looks funny but to me it give clear picture how strong, conventional and rigid social systems disallows leadership, innovations and ability to think differently in this country which is flooded with highly potential Steve Jobs.
