Society of Liars



Working on Facebook to understand gender, religion, relations, information, communication etc. is getting more and more interesting to me now a days. Massive flow of information on Facebook is exceeding the flow of information through mailing but in reality information which is flowing on home pages of our Facebook is not at all required to contribute in knowledge.  People may argue that its entertainment and spreading good things among social network but again it is leading fake showoff of emotional attachments and leads to nothing in long run.

Yesterday, interesting line stuck in mind which was posted on Facebook (there is something on my mind :D ), it was-  Facebook is society of liars , at first sight it seem funny to me but while thinking on word society a question came up in my mind, does society of liars in reality exists ? And the answer my mind gave was YES, society of liars exists.

Actually, every human whom we can see is liar in some sense or other. Lies are so nicely incorporated that we have stopped thinking consciously on it. Lies are merely words distorting real picture of person or event. All of us speak things which are not correct or true in actual sense only its intensity varies from an incorrect grammar to betrayal in relations.  Reasons for speaking lies also vary as per situation and personality. It has been proved that married couple speaks more lie than singles , children speaks more lies than aged ones, females speaks more lies than male ones and so on (these findings are true).

Some times are lies are used to give emotional happiness or support to people or organizations. Since childhood we develop our own mechanisms to find our truth behind lies, some are taught and some are learnt by experience but it makes us resistant to unreal things.

Lies are actual contributors to our personality, it is strongest side of culture across the geography, it inspires us to find out truth, to be curious, to develop questioning attitude, to realize our mistakes. 

Lies, in real sense as no power, actual power rests in hands of people who make lies important in their daily life. Like Facebook as a site has no power but influence of its features on people’s life has power and makes Facebook an important aspect of daily life.

Incorrectness, mistakes, errors, lies are those darkness of life without which we cannot enjoy REAL life

DECODING THE GURU

As a student of sociology, brought up in Gujarati culture I always wondered about existence and influence of gurus, pir and babas. Some iconic personalities raised to level of divinity and worshiped as god is still an avenue of my quest. People like Ramdev Pir, Jalaram Bapa, Sai Baba, Sitaram Bapa, Bhathiji Maharaj, Swaminarayan, etc. appeared during colonial times and are today praised as god. Till date, people like Pandurang Athaval, Swami Chinmayanand, Dada Bhagwan, Shiv Baba, Stya Shree Sai Baba, Sadguru, Shree Shree Ravi Sankar, Osho, etc. are popular across country as a god’s men who are leading various sectarian cults based on Hindu doctrines. Multitasking, life killing strategy …

            I am a designer, a blogger, a research scholar, a friend, a son, a brother, aaaaaaa many things. Many things, many identities, many roles are being adopted (even assigned) by this entity called “I”. Every role has its own nature of demand. Performing these roles at its best is most challenging, most complex and most desirable thing.                       Today every human being is “burdened” with such roles and identities, to navigate between these roles and identities he has adopted strategy what we called multitasking. At single point of time we are doing so many things, for instance updating facebook status while sitting in class, writing assignments with listening music and what not. I feel height of multitasking when people take picture while kissing !!!  The first word which comes up in my mind after looking such snaps is undoubtedly F word….
