KEEP YOUR SPECS CLEAN BUDDY!!!!!!

Before few days, one of my friends shared a note on current situation of India. Like every conscious, learned and active citizen she seemed to be worried about ongoing political, economical and social scenario of this country, and why Indians are so worried? India is undergoing from very critical times in very sphere, it can be good subject for research!!!!! :-)

Social system is based on relationships between individuals and institutions and information is key factor which enables these relationships to move on.  Before advent of communication instruments flow of information was major binding force of communities.

If we look at our daily life pattern, we can easily realize how much important part does information plays. Newspaper, Television, Radio, Internet, Magazines etc. are just a few example of conscious source of information. The toothpaste, shampoo,  detergent, shaving gel, cosmetics, cloths, daily household things, food we eat , whatever you can see being used is used because of information we get from some source. It is very difficult to avoid window displays or advertisement hoardings while walking on street and it’s more difficult when there is sexy actress posing for a product which she don’t ever use :-)  Railway station or bus stop we can always see an eye catcher book stand with mostly inexpensive books. Newspapers are most cheap and easily available product, sometimes you may even find new titles fall on our doorsteps as free sheets and how can I forgot lots of junk mail we receive daily.

Why it needed to give simple and idiotic examples because we should realize that any think we listen, read or view today, is gift of some medium. We are in media-laden society. We are surrounded by media to which we respond or not it’s going to keep on throwing its harvest to us. This media-laden lifestyle kills creativity, vision and ability to think beyond what has been shown. As our educator firmly believes that access to more informative tools impacts direct knowledge which can be gain through experience, we cannot multiply 137 by 142 without calculator now days.  

We should make ourselves capable enough that whenever there is news about political, economical or social movement in any country, we should find out real truth and foresee reality. Of course what is being broadcasted or published has reality in it but we need to filter out that reality. For instance we can say against all current scenarios India is undergoing transparency revolution where corruption will be redefined. New political talent and schemes will bring change in this country including social and economical changes.

If our ‘specs’ are not clear how can we see clear picture, so its time to clear glasses rather than closing eyes and crying.
